A Bit About Me
My walk in life with the Lord
My name is Jonathan. I lived in a Christian family and am one of ten. I have 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Ever since I was born my parents had always taught me from Gods Word, so I had heard the salvation message numerous times but when I was young I never thought much of it. When I was eleven years of age, two of my siblings were saved and wanted to be baptized. Well, I thought, I'd better be baptized too, as I had always believed that Christ was my Saviour and that He died for me. So, I was baptized - well, not really and I will explain why.
One day, I now being thirteen, we were all having family time, and my dad was reading the bible and explaining what true salvation is and why Christ died for us.
I started thinking, and felt very convicted and unsure if I was actually saved, despite already having been "baptized" two years earlier.
Once my Dad had finished reading the Bible, I sat down at the table with my Bible in front of me and began to think. Was I saved? I came to the conclusion pretty quickly - no, I wasn’t.
I had never truly from my heart believed on Christ, repented of my unrighteous life and accepted Him as my personal Saviour, as John 3:16 states: ”For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
So it was at this point that I truly believed and trusted on Christ as my Saviour. I felt so happy and excited and I wanted to tell the world. I was later baptized as a symbol and testimonial of my faith and trust in Christ.
Since becoming a Christian at age 13, I have had a lot of hardships in my life, including losing several siblings to the world. My older brother I lost when I was 14. He had chosen the world’s way and turned his back on Christ. I was really close to him and respected him a lot. When he left home I wept for him, because I just couldn’t understand why he had done this. Since then I've lost other siblings to the world as well. They had no desire to follow Christ and went after the ways of the world.
At age 24 my life was about to change forever, when the Lord brought into my life a beautiful woman, Naomi. God had sent my way a woman that loved me like no one ever had before. She was the first person that I had ever been able to tell my whole life story to up to this day. Many joyful and challenging things happened during this time of my life, but God brought me closer to Him through it all.
After three months of seeing each other we got engaged, and seven months later we married on the 17th of November 2018, probably the second most blessed day in my life; other than when I became a Christian
The Truth of God’s Word can come at high cost, but this is His will and as my Lord and Saviour, He will never leave me nor forsake me. God gives me comfort, support, and strength. He is first, and to stand up and speak His truths can and will be costly.
It is now my goal in life to share the truths of Gods Word no matter the cost, and that God must always be first and foremost in all our lives. I hope my testimony brings you inspiration in life to follow His Truths always.
